Group Workouts Accomplish Almost Nothing
Posted by admin on January 23, 2012
Group workouts are a great time to spend friends and have a good laugh. So is going out for ice cream, going to the movies, or baking together. The bottom line is working out is not a time to engage with friends. Not only is it extremely unproductive, but terrible for self esteem.
Working out with friends is not a good idea at all. Firstly, it commonly results in nothing getting accomplished. Between gossiping, hitting up the juice bar, and taking time to select workout machines that are near each other, most of the time working out with friends is spent not working out. Also, working out with friends can hold your workout back. If a friend cannot go for as long or doesn’t want to use the more challenging machines, participating in their low grade workout will do nothing for your weight loss plight. Finally, working out with friends is bad for the self esteem. It is never good to compare and contrast the abilities, form, and physique of others’ workouts compared to your own. All in all, working out with friends may be fun, but it is not effective.
